Warm up your horse this cold Christmas season with the ultimate Christmas mash with organic apples. 

It’s super easy and it will be your horse’s favorite Christmas present. Guaranteed.

So here’s the scoop:

Mix together:

• 1 cup rolled oats
• 8 cups of bran
• 1/4 cup corn oil
• 1/4 cup dark  molasses
• 1  sliced carrot
• 1 organic sliced apple  (Apples belong to the MOST PESTICIDE contaminated
  produce and health experts recommend that we completely avoid non-organically
  grown apples, so go with organic.)
• 1 1/2 – 2 cups of water
• 1 tsp of cinammon
• 1 tsp of nutmeg

Mix bran oats with hot water. Cover and let the yummy goodness steep until it’s cool enough to feed.
And now enjoy the slurping sounds. Delicious.

Today we took on Cadence - a 5 year old Percheron Arab Cross Mare. This “little” redhead wasn’t sure at first about this whole bathing thing. We had to keep reassuring her over and over that the hose wasn’t a pony-eating-boa-constrictor. When she relaxed and stood still, we  slipped her some treats. She soon figured out that bathing wasn’t that bad.We love the rich red shiny hue of her coat that was completely hidden under the mud & dust. We got her squeaky clean with our 100% biodegradable & earth friendly Squeaky Green & Clean Shampoo.  She really enjoyed the intensive tail scrub and kept making really funny faces. Silky Conditioner got her coat shiny and her tail soft, smooth and free of tangles. We cut and thinned her mane and used some In Control Braiding & Mane Setting Cream to keep it on one side.

We finished off with a spritz of Glossy – Gloss Enhancing Coat Tonic with reflective Mica mineral that adds delicate shimmer and some Moisture Maniac Infusion to nourish and protect her tail.  What a gorgeous girl! EcoLicious Equestrian was a proud sponsor of the May Pony Club Show in MB.

Despite the dim weather forecast, the long weekend turned out to be sunny and beautiful; and the Show was a success. The winners left with a bottle of  our EcoLicious 100% natural and organic silicone free Intensive Mane & Tail Treatment “De-Stress”.

The highlight of the Sunday jump off was a couple of suicidal wild turkeys that kept strategically positioning themselves behind the jumps during the competition. One of the contestants had to stop mid-course while the turkeys were removed.

Please note that no turkeys were harmed during the removal.

Get your horse’s tail show ready with this intensive EcoLicious treatment and transform your horse’s tail. Go from dry & distressed to vibrant and nourished within minutes. You don’t need to wash your horse’s tail prior unless it’s really dirty.

It’s simple.

1. Heat up approx. half ounce of De-Stress Intensive Restructuring Treatment in a small microwavable bowl. Do not overheat. It needs to hot enough to create the effect and not too hot so you don’t burn your hands. De-Stress is made with 100% natural & organic ingredients and is silicone free and  can be used in place of regular conditioner/detangler.

2. Rub the treatment into the tail hair as well as the base. Spread evenly.  Small amount goes a long way here, be prepared to need less than you expected.

3. Wrap. We are using an e-wrap (biodegradable form of saran wrap), but it is not widely available so go with aluminum foil instead. It’s made from recycled aluminum and it can be recycled after you’re done with it.

4. Leave on for at least 10 minutes, but if you have time, leave it on longer. Don’t wash out. The hair will soak it in. If there is a little left unabsorbed, pat the tail dry with a towel.

And the results? Dazzling!
