Results of our new whitener formula test are IN! Meet Spirit – a 7 year old Bashkir Curly – with a manure & urine discolored tail. His owner Sherri has been using our products on him for over year and when she heard we were developing a whitener, she wanted to be the first one to test it.

This whitener formula is like all our other grooming products free of nasty chemicals, parabens and silicones and contain no peroxide. It’s made with one of the most powerful natural bleach- lemons.

First we washed his tail with our Squeaky Green & Clean Deep Cleansing and Conditioning Shampoo. This “baby” itself is pretty powerful in removing yellow stains and together with the whitener they make a serious stain busting duo.

Check out the below Before & After Close Ups. We held his tail next to his hind end to show the contrast.  Sherri’s first comment was: “He’s got a Barbie tail”. That just about sums it up. What do you think?

Believe it or not, horses do enjoy a nice lager. Racehorses in Ireland enjoy a pint of Guinness regularly.  It’s good for them and helps them to relax. Hops - the active ingredient - is known to soothe anxiety,  relax muscles and relax spasms of the digestive tract. Don’t worry – you won’t get your horse drunk. You’d have to have your horse finish at least a six pack.

Mix together:

• 8 cups of bran
• 8 cups of oats
• Pinch of sea salt
• Hot water
• 1 can of dark bear

Add enough water to thoroughly moisten the ingredients, add salt, mix and let it steep until cool enough to feed.

Warm up your horse this cold Christmas season with the ultimate Christmas mash with organic apples. 

It’s super easy and it will be your horse’s favorite Christmas present. Guaranteed.

So here’s the scoop:

Mix together:

• 1 cup rolled oats
• 8 cups of bran
• 1/4 cup corn oil
• 1/4 cup dark  molasses
• 1  sliced carrot
• 1 organic sliced apple  (Apples belong to the MOST PESTICIDE contaminated
  produce and health experts recommend that we completely avoid non-organically
  grown apples, so go with organic.)
• 1 1/2 – 2 cups of water
• 1 tsp of cinammon
• 1 tsp of nutmeg

Mix bran oats with hot water. Cover and let the yummy goodness steep until it’s cool enough to feed.
And now enjoy the slurping sounds. Delicious.

Do you remember Black Forrest William aka the “Dirty Willy”- the Gypsy Vaner stallion from Cyclone Farms and our first EcoLicious Beauty Makeover subject?

If you don’t remember or if you weren’t around yet, here is “Dirty Willy’s” Makeover Video and before and after pics.  Cora and Karl – the owners and operators of Cyclone Farms got hooked on our products after the makeover and now they are one of our moth faithful customers.

So what’s up with William now? Cora was so kind to keep us posted about the new developments with this super sweet handsome boy. William was shown at The Oklahoma State Fair Gypsy and Draft Horse Show this September as well as at the Heartland Feathered Classic, Danville Indiana. His most notable achievements were:

Amateur Gypsy Halter 1st out of 10
Gypsy In Hand Best Traditional Movement 4th out of 14
Gypsy Color Class- Patterned 2nd out of 14
Gypsy & Drum In Hand Obstacle course 3rd out of 18

And of course we cannot forget the Best Groomed & Conditioned Class. That’s after all what we are all about. William placed second and according to Cora  he would have done better. “When we were blow drying him, we missed a spot under his mane. It was still damp when we went into the ring and it cost us valuable points. I’m convinced that if it wasn’t for that William would place first. Thanks to EcoLicious!” And we add to that : thanks to your hard work! We know first hand how much elbow greese it takes.

We asked Cora what it took to get William Red Carpet ready and here’s her How To: “ William was dry scrubbed with Green & Squeaky Clean straight from the bottle in the especially dirty spots, then his feathers were rinsed and also scrubbed with Green & Squeaky Clean. He was then completely hosed down and scrubbed with Green & Squeaky Clean again (how can you tell I love this stuff). He was then rinsed off and  In Control was applied to his mane, tail and feather and allowed to sit for a few minutes before brushing through. The whitener (to be launched soon) was then applied to his feather (the whitener is amazing, it even removed the pink stain in William’s feather caused by the red dirt in Oklahoma).”

We’re proud of William and we can’t wish for a better “face” for EcoLicious Equestrian. After all if our products can get a horse like Dirty Willy squeaky clean and looking  fabulous, imagine how stunning they would make your horse.

It was a warm and sunny fall weekend and we had to take advantage of it and get our hands on a “dirty pony” before it gets too cold for equine beauty makeovers.

And we got our hands on Patches – a sweet Paint girl that was long overdue for some EcoLicious pampering. We scrubbed her head to toe with our Squeaky Green & Clean All Natural Shampoo. She loved the natural Sweet Orange scent that is know in equine aromatherapy for its uplifiting benefits. This shampoo is made with gentle but tough-on-dirt coconut derived ingredients, it is toxin free and 100% biodegradable.  Tea Tree Essential Oil, with its antibacterial & antifungal properties, protects even the most sensitive skin and Silk makes coats soft and silky.

We detangled and conditioned her tail with Silky – a Rinse Out Moisturizing Conditioner and finished it off with spritz of Leave In Detangler Moisture Maniac.  Her tail was vibrant, soft  and full. We applied our EcoLicious soon-to-be-launched whitenener on her legs for the ultimate white. She enjoyed her spa day and a subsequent photoshoot like a true girl would.
